Q.
What size are the canes?
A. The canes are
approximately 1/4" in diameter (5-6 mm) by two inches (51 mm) long.
Depending upon how thin you slice the canes, you will get between
100 to 120 slices from each cane. Because all of the canes are
handmade, you can expect minor variations in size.
Q.
How do I slice the canes?
A. The key to slicing
polymer clay nail art canes is to get them warm first. The canes
should be warm to the touch, but not hot. You may place the canes in
a coffee cup of water that has already been warmed in the microwave,
put them on a heating pad set on low, or warm them on top of paper
towels in a toaster oven. Whichever method you choose, be sure to
keep the canes from getting too hot as the clay will turn brown if
it burns. For the thinnest cuts, use a polymer clay cutting blade
found in craft stores, or a tissue blade from a medical supply.
Q.
Why
is that "white" clay surrounding some of the designs?
A. It appears in the
photos that some of the designs are surrounded by white clay,
however this is actually transparent clay that is "packed" around
the design so it will keep its shape while being reduced. When
sliced thinly the transparent parts of the design will become almost
clear.
Q.
Can I re-sell your
PolyNail nail art?
A. Yes! You may
purchase our PolyNail nail art at wholesale,
50% off our suggested retail prices, with a minimum $100 order.
The PolyNail nail art will arrive packaged for retail sale, however
many nail techs prefer to use the nail art and charge per nail.
